A Personalized Approach to Fit Your Needs

Initial Consultation

Let’s determine together whether I would be a helpful resource for you. This initial conversation of approximately 20 minutes is complimentary.

Comprehensive Consultation

This is the comprehensive meeting where, after evaluating information you provide, I give a supportive, but professional, assessment of the student’s strengths and weaknesses and suggest colleges and other opportunities based on what the student (and their family) considers important. Before the meeting, parents and students complete questionnaires, supply student transcripts, and any relevant test scores. Based on that information, I prepare extensively to provide customized, streamlined guidance for the student.

After this approximately two-hour consultation, students will have in hand a prospective college list based on their specific wants and needs. I can also answer any questions you may have about the college application process in the hopes that we can reduce anxiety and increase clarity. This is a conversation, a time to ask questions, and chance to explore intriguing academic opportunities.

My goal is for students and their families to leave this meeting feeling informed, empowered, and enthusiastic to explore the options we have discussed. While college consultants typically dole out their recommendations over several meetings, I have found that a single meeting allows me to contextualize this information within a larger picture, and saves families time and money. Meetings are primarily virtual, though in-person can be arranged in certain circumstances. The Comprehensive Consultation can be scheduled at any point, but it is most beneficial to students in tenth or eleventh grade.

Essays and applications

Typically students move from the Comprehensive Consultation to the essay and application phase, but some students come to me exclusively for the latter. While the best results can be obtained from a holistic process beginning with the Comprehensive Consultation, I also welcome students to join me at the application stage of their journey.

This is more of a one-on-one relationship with the applicant as we figure out what life events are best shared with an admissions office and what may be the most impactful way to share them. Staying organized and attuned to deadlines, the student crafts essays that are meaningful and appropriate for propelling their applications forward. Often a student who has been apprehensive about writing essays shifts to a mindset where they are actually excited about the opportunity to share their personal story.

Rates

The Comprehensive Consultation is priced at $750. This flat rate covers my intake of your information, preparation in response to your unique set of variables, and, what is typically, a 90-minute to 2-hour meeting to discuss options and answer questions.

Additional time beyond the Comprehensive Consultation, including, but not limited to post-overview research, questions, essays, mock interviews, scholarship lists, wait list strategy, school selection, or general consultation is priced at $200 per hour.

College consultants often offer package rates. I charge by the hour (as opposed to making people commit to packages) as I want families to feel like they can be in touch when they need to be, but not obligated to pay for more help than they need. That said, please reach out if you are interested in alternate arrangements.
